Good Clean Love began in 2003 with a deeply personal mission. Founder, Wendy Strgar, was fighting to save not just her marriage, but her intimate health. After nursing four children, sex had become unbearably painful. Desperate for a solution, she turned to conventional personal lubricants, only to experience severe reactions from every product she tried. It was then that she realized the shelves were filled with products containing harmful ingredients—parabens, petrochemicals, and synthetic fragrances that had no place in our bodies. The spark of change was ignited.
Wendy wasn’t just solving a problem for herself; she was reimagining what intimacy could look like for everyone. Determined to create something better, she dove into research and began crafting a safe, organic alternative to the harsh chemicals on the market. In 2004, Good Clean Love introduced Almost Naked personal lubricant, setting a new standard for sexual wellness.

But Wendy didn’t stop there. She forged partnerships with leading gynecologists and groundbreaking scientists from Johns Hopkins University, developing a revolutionary line of sexual wellness products designed to nurture, protect, and enhance the intimate lives of women. From personal lubricants to feminine hygiene products, Wendy’s mission expanded to support reproductive health and sexual pleasure at every age and stage of life.
In 2012, Good Clean Love achieved a major breakthrough, becoming the first company to offer an organic personal lubricant that was deemed one of the safest on the market for delicate vaginal tissue in a landmark study by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This recognition not only affirmed Wendy’s vision but solidified Good Clean Love as a pioneer in the sexual health industry.
Today, we continue to innovate, driven by the belief that intimacy and sexual wellness should never come at the cost of your health. We remain committed to developing products that are as gentle on the planet as they are on your body—because everyone deserves safe, clean, and effective care.

As a purpose driven company, social responsibility and environmental stewardship are at the forefront of our business practices. To walk the talk, we decided back in 2013 to become B Corp Certified. As such, we uphold ourselves to the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. As change agents, we are leading the way toward more responsible packaging in the hygiene and personal care industry by using recyclable green plastic made of sugarcane. We have also won the PETA Compassionate Company Award for our work in helping change the FDA animal testing requirements for personal lubricants.
